Uridine 5'-monophosphate Usage
| Uses | Uridylic acid is the phosphate ester of uridine. Depending on the position of phosphate linkage, there are three types: uridine 2′-phosphate (2′-uridylic acid), uridine 3′-phosphate (3′-uridylic acid), and uridine 5′-phosphate (5′-uridylic acid). In the body, it usually exists as uridine 5′-phosphate. Data show that in sow's milk, uridylic acid accounts for an absolutely dominant proportion of total nucleotides during the early, middle, and late lactation periods, with its proportion even reaching over 90% of the total nucleotides. In addition, a comparison of nucleotide contents between piglet creep feed and sow's milk in the late lactation period reveals that among the five nucleotides, uridylic acid is the most deficient in piglet creep feed, while other nucleotides are less deficient or not deficient at all. Therefore, if the nucleotide content in sow's milk represents the piglet's requirement for nucleotides, it can be concluded that among the five nucleotides, piglets are most deficient in uridylic acid. |
