Description

Mainly focus on it as an electron etching gas.

Synthetic path

Hexafluorobutadiene can be directly obtained from octafluorodibromobutane or octafluorodiiodobutane by butyllithium dehalogenation, with a yield of 97%, but this method is not practical because butyllithium is dangerous and expensive . Later researchers on the dehalogenation process of octafluorodibromo(iodine) butane mainly focused on the use of zinc, magnesium metal and its additives, solvents, etc., and achieved good results. Octafluorodibromo(iodine) butane can be obtained from tetrafluorodibromo(iodine)ethane obtained by adding bromine or iodine to tetrafluoroethylene and then reacting with tetrafluoroethylene.
