Biapenem Usage
|
Uses |
It is a fully synthetic antibacterial drug |
Biapenem is a carbapenem synthetic antibiotic; it is more stable to kidney dehydropeptidase than meropenem and does not require a combination of enzyme inhibitors. The activity against gram-negative bacteria, especially against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, is stronger than that of imipenem; the antibacterial activity against aerobic gram-positive bacteria is slightly lower than that of imipenem; the activity against anaerobes is the same as that of imipenem .
The carbapenem antibiotics mainly achieve antibacterial purposes by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, and they can withstand the hydrolysis of a variety of β-lactamases. Compared with the marketed imipenem/cilastatin, the introduction of β-methyl makes Biapenem stable to renal dehydrogenase (DHP-I), without inhibiting renal dehydrogenase (DHP-I) It is used in combination with agents; the quaternary cation structure on the 2 side chain makes it have good outer membrane permeability. Biapenem is a broad-spectrum antibiotic with powerful rapid bactericidal power and good clinical efficacy. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is resistant to β-lactams, new quinolones and aminoglycosides, shows strong antibacterial power.
