Usage

3-Methylamino-1-(2-thienyl)-1-propanol is a synthetic intermediate of duloxetine, a serotonin (5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) reuptake inhibitor. Duloxetine is a selective serotonin (5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) reuptake inhibitor. The mechanisms underlying duloxetine's antidepressant and central analgesic effects have not been fully elucidated, but it is believed to be associated with its ability to enhance serotonergic and noradrenergic functions in the central nervous system.
