It is understood that the 1 million tons of coal-to-ethylene glycol project of Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park in Hohhot. The construction period of the project is 3 years. It is planned to be completed in 2020 and officially put into operation in 2021. The total investment of the project is 13.3 billion yuan. It uses aerospace powder coal gasification and Shell gasification process, low-temperature methanol washing process and Johnson Matthey Davy's formaldehyde hydrocarboxylation process technology to produce ethylene glycol. Signed a USD 120 million ethylene glycol, formaldehyde, methanol synthesis technology transfer and catalyst contract with Johnson Matthey Technology Co., Ltd.
In addition, the environmental impact report of the new 900,000 tons of methanol project, a filling and supplementation project that was built in conjunction with the project, was also approved by the Hohhot City Ecological Environment Bureau in January 2021, marking the official start of the construction of the 900,000 tons methanol plant.
According to reports, the total investment of the new 900,000-ton methanol plant project is 627,262,600 yuan, of which the environmental protection investment is 5.2 million yuan, accounting for 0.83% of the total investment, and covers an area of 2.492 hectares. It is located in Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd., Tuoketuo County Industrial Park, Hohhot City In the plant area of the company's annual production of 1 million tons of ethylene glycol project, it is planned to use the rich raw material gas from the gas supply device of the Air Chemical Products (Hohhot) Co., Ltd. large gas island project to produce methanol.
The main construction devices of the 900,000-ton methanol project include: methanol synthesis device, hydrogen recovery device and methanol rectification device, supporting the construction of refined methanol storage tanks and automobile loading and unloading stations, and other public and auxiliary projects relying on the 1 million-ton glycol project.
According to the data, the 1 million tons of ethylene glycol project of Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in the west area of Tuoketuo Industrial Park, Helinger New District, with a total investment of 13.3 billion yuan, covering an area of 2565 acres, and a construction scale of 100 10,000 tons of ethylene glycol, using space pulverized coal gasification and SHELL pulverized coal pressurized gasification technology and Davy's formaldehyde hydrocarboxylation process technology to synthesize ethylene glycol.
