100 Billion Cubic Meters Of Gas Fields Discovered In China Again

On November 12, Sinopec reported that the West Sichuan gas field of Sinopec Southwest Petroleum Bureau added 83 billion cubic meters of proven reserves. So far, the total proved reserves of West Sichuan gas field have reached 114 billion cubic meters.


West Sichuan gas field is located in the western edge of Sichuan Basin. The buried depth of the main gas reservoir is about 6000 meters, and the gas field area is about 138 square kilometers. In 2018, well Pengzhou 1 and other exploratory wells deployed by Southwest Petroleum Bureau in the region have successively obtained high-yield industrial gas flow, thus discovering the West Sichuan gas field. Since 2019, the Southwest Petroleum Bureau has successively deployed 11 development wells, and the 7 completed wells have achieved good production.


Sinopec officials said that at present, Southwest Petroleum Bureau is optimizing the development plan of West Sichuan gas field and making every effort to promote the development and construction of the gas field.
