On October 21, the Fujian United Petrochemical team successfully started a new 120,000-ton/year sulfur recovery unit and produced qualified liquid sulfur products. The smoke emission during the whole process of driving meets the national emission standards.
The new sulfur recovery unit is the first Super Claus process sulfur recovery unit of Sinopec. It started construction in July 2018. It is one of the key environmental protection projects supporting the Fujian United Petrochemical Product Structure Optimization and Quality Improvement Project. The successful commissioning of the device has enabled the production capacity of Fujian United Petrochemical's sulfur recovery device to reach a maximum of 440,000 tons per year. It is more flexible in terms of safe and stable production of sulfur recovery device and shutdown of the device for maintenance, ensuring sulfur content under various working conditions. Zero gas emissions meet current environmental protection needs.
The successful commissioning of the new sulfur recovery device will further improve the air quality around the enterprise, and is of great significance for achieving social, environmental and production benefits, and adapting to the environmental requirements of "green and low carbon".
