The project has a total investment of 5.17 billion yuan and covers an area of about 25.5 hectares. Yangzi Petrochemical’s refining structure adjustment project is a key project for Sinopec and Nanjing Jiangbei New District. It includes 8 key projects including newly built 2.6 million tons/year residual oil hydrogenation and 2.8 million tons/year catalytic cracking. The goal is to increase quality and efficiency, and to increase the production of chemical raw materials as the main direction to maximize the advantages of refining and chemical integration. The construction period of the project is approximately 20 months and is expected to be completed in 2023. This project is an important measure for Sinopec to implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council for supply-side structural reforms. It is a development practice to build a high-quality integrated refining and chemical enterprise.
