On June 1, 2021, BASF announced that starting from July 1, 2021 or subject to existing contracts, BASF will increase the price of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and its derivatives in North America.
Product price increase
1,4-Butanediol (BDO) increased by 0.10 USD/lb
γ-Butyrolactone (GBL) increased by USD 0.15/lb
N\-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP) increased by USD 0.15/lb
Tetrahydrofuran (THF) increased by USD 0.25/lb
Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PolyTHF®) increased by USD 0.25/lb
BDO and its derivatives are used in the production of engineering plastics, polyurethane, medicine, solvents and elastic spandex fibers.
