German chemical giant BASF announced on the 22nd that Yangzi Petrochemical-BASF Co., Ltd. (Yangzi Petrochemical-BASF), a joint venture between Sinopec and BASF, has expanded its neopentyl glycol production capacity. The plant is located in the Yangzi Petrochemical-BASF world-class integrated base in Nanjing, Jiangsu. It was put into operation in 2015 and has an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons. After the expansion is completed, the total annual production capacity will reach 80,000 tons.
BASF has neopentyl glycol production bases in Ludwigshafen (Germany), Freeport (USA), Nanjing (China) and Jilin (China).

Neopentyl glycol is a unique polyol.
