It is understood that according to the "Relocation Task List of Chemical Enterprises along the River in Hubei Province", there are a total of 478 chemical companies within the range of 1 km to 15 km from the Yangtze River, Han River, and Qingjiang in Hubei Province, including 118 chemical companies within 1 km of the Yangtze River. , Distributed in 14 cities and prefectures including Wuhan, Yichang, Jingzhou, Huanggang, Huangshi and Enshi. Since 2018, the Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology has strictly implemented the work requirements of the provincial party committee and the provincial government. The province has completed a total of 417 companies along the riverside chemical enterprise's task list for transformation and relocation, completing 87.2% of the total task list, exceeding the first phase of the target task.

During the period of "customs reform and relocation", Hubei Province accelerated the integration of the relocation of chemical companies along the Yangtze River with technology, product, and process updates, as well as intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing, to promote the upgrading of enterprise safety and environmental protection standards and the development of clusters in the park. At present, the proportion of high-end chemical products such as new chemical materials, high-end fine chemicals, biological pesticides, and new high-efficiency fertilizers in Hubei Province has reached more than 30%, and low-end and high-energy-consuming products have been greatly reduced. "Moving strong", Hunan Province's experience in cracking the "Chemical Encirclement of the River" has been fully affirmed by the State Council, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Yangtze River Office, and the Fourth Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Supervision Group.
The Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology stated that the "14th Five-Year Plan" will be the key five years for Hubei Province to transition from a major petrochemical province to a strong province, and it is also a key five years for the improvement of the industrial structure from quantitative changes to qualitative changes.
