Recently, international crude oil prices have gradually increased, returning to more than US$40/barrel. Domestic retail prices of gasoline and diesel have stabilized for more than three months. On May 28, at 24 o'clock, the price may be ushered in for the first time this year.
According to data released by Xinhua News Agency’s oil price system on June 24, the average price change rate of the crude oil package on June 23 was 3.64%.
According to the "Petroleum Price Management Measures", the prices of domestic gasoline and diesel oil are adjusted every 10 working days according to the change in crude oil prices in the international market, and the price adjustment takes effect at 24:00 on the date of price adjustment. When the price adjustment is less than 50 yuan per ton, no adjustment will be made, and it will be accumulated or offset when the price is adjusted next time. When special circumstances stipulated in the measures arise, the price adjustment may be suspended, delayed, or narrowed.
The “Petroleum Price Management Measures” also stipulates that when the price of crude oil in the international market is lower than US$40 per barrel (inclusive), the price of refined oil is calculated based on the crude oil price of US$40 per barrel and the normal processing profit margin.
June 24 is the ninth working day of this pricing cycle. Affected by the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the price adjustment window will open at 24:00 on June 28 (Sunday). If international crude oil prices remain strong in the coming days, domestic refined oil prices may rise slightly this round; but if international oil prices are significantly lower, it may not rule out the possibility that the price adjustment will be stranded again.
In 2020, there have been eleven rounds of domestic product oil price adjustments. Specifically, there are 0 upward adjustments, 3 downward adjustments, and 8 strandings. The total gasoline price has been reduced by 1,850 yuan/ton, and diesel has been reduced by 1,780 yuan/ton.
