As of June 4, the oil and gas exploration of the Fuman Oilfield in Tarim has achieved success. Four exploratory wells including Manshen 2, Manshen 3, etc. have all achieved high yields of more than 100 tons per day, and a super rich oil and gas fault zone with reserves of over 200 million tons has been established. So far, the Fuman Oilfield has identified 34 fault zones including Manshen and Yueman from west to east, with a resource volume of over 1 billion tons, making it the largest ultra-deep ocean facies fault-controlled fracture-cavity carbonate reservoir discovered in my country. Make new contributions to safeguarding national energy security.
In recent years, PetroChina’s Tarim Oilfield has thoroughly implemented the spirit of a series of important instructions and instructions of General Secretary Jin Ping on vigorously enhancing exploration and development efforts, focusing on promoting the implementation of domestic exploration and production business accelerated development plans, strengthening new development concepts, and highlighting high-quality development. Adhering to the integration of exploration and development, increasing scientific and technological innovation and tackling key technologies, Fuman Oilfield has achieved significant new results in oil and gas exploration.
Fuman Oilfield is located on the southern bank of the Tarim River, in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert, between the two major oil and gas regions of Tazhong and Tabei in the Tarim Basin. The main target layer is buried at a depth of about 8,000 meters. Researchers are determined to continue to deepen the scientific and technological research on the efficient exploration and development of ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs, overcome the technical bottleneck of ultra-deep fault-controlled fracture-cavity carbonate reservoir prediction, and innovate to form ultra-deep carbonate drilling Completion supporting technology series, assisting Manshen 1, Manshen 2 and Manshen 3 wells to achieve a major breakthrough in the oil and gas exploration of the 8,000-meter ultra-deep marine carbonate rock in the northern part of Tabei, forming the overall contiguous oil-bearing area of Tabei-Tazhong Large-scale increase in reserves and production. Up to now, Fuman Oilfield has discovered and confirmed 400 million tons of petroleum geological reserves.
In 2021, Tarim Oilfield will speed up contiguous 3D seismic acquisition and processing, speed up fine exploration and offensive evaluation of hydrocarbon-rich strike-slip fault zones. In January this year, Well Manshen 3 was tested in the Ordovician Yijianfang Formation with a daily production of 1610.9 cubic meters of oil and gas. 525,000 cubic meters, setting the highest daily production record for a single well of carbonate rocks in the Tarim Basin; after 3 months, the first open-hole stratification test of Well Manshen 2 proved that the oil column height was above 550 meters, setting a record for carbonates in the Tarim Basin. Rock test confirmed the highest record of oil column height. Innovate the idea of “zone, section, well, and shape” efficient well layout, and strengthen the key technology research for speed and production and efficiency, and increase the drilling success rate from 75% to 95%, and the proportion of high-efficiency wells from 28% to 65% , The daily oil production of a single well was increased from 35 tons to 74 tons, achieving the goal of "discovery that year, deliver reserves that year, and build production that year" in one fell swoop.
In the 6 years from discovery to the development of Fuman Oilfield, the annual crude oil output has increased from more than 30,000 tons to 1.52 million tons in 2020, and 55 high-yield wells with daily output of more than 100 tons, including Manshen 1, have been created, and my country’s largest production has been efficiently discovered and built. The 7600 meters deep and ultra-deep marine fault-controlled fracture-cavity carbonate oil field strongly promotes and leads the continuous exploration of my country's oil and gas exploration into deep and ultra-deep complex fields.
The Tarim Basin is rich in oil and gas reserves of marine carbonate rocks, accounting for about 38% of the total oil and gas resources in the basin. It is an important strategic succession area for increasing crude oil reserves and production in the Tarim Oilfield. By 2025, Fuman Oilfield will achieve an annual output of 4 million tons of oil and 1.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
