Recently, major chemical companies have issued price increase letters one after another. The market prices of raw materials have soared. Due to the impact of the epidemic, transportation capacity is limited, and the supply of chemicals has become more difficult. Are you ready for this wave of price increases?

1. The supply is interrupted, and the raw materials have skyrocketed by 1,000-2,000 yuan/ton in a single day!

The epidemic has had a certain impact on inter-provincial transportation, and the continued force majeure of large factories has forced the expansion of the forced suspension of production teams, and the increase in temporary maintenance has increased the supply pressure on the market. Supply interruption + surge in demand, price increase letters bombard the chemical market, traders are obviously reluctant to sell, and the prices of many raw materials are quickly pushed up. Increased sharply 3 times in the month, PBAT increased by 2,000 yuan/ton!

Affected by the continuous increase in the prices of upstream raw materials BDO, PTA, and adipic acid, on July 30, Kanghui New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Lijin (Suzhou) Trading Co., Ltd. issued price adjustment notices, announcing that PBAT would increase by RMB 2,000/ton. The price increase will be implemented on August 1.

It is reported that this is the third price increase of Hengli Kanghui in July!

On July 1st and July 8th, Kanghui New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Lijin (Suzhou) Trading Co., Ltd. jointly issued price adjustment notices, announcing price increases of 1,000 yuan and 800 yuan, respectively, with a cumulative increase of 1,800 yuan/ Ton. Thanks to China Post’s 50 million order stimulus + upstream BDO supply shortage + plastic ban, merchants have a strong attitude of reluctance to sell. In the short term, PBAT market prices remain firm.

Bisphenol A: One day skyrocketing 1,600 yuan/ton, two days more than 2,000 yuan/ton

Following a one-day surge of 1,600 yuan/ton on Monday, today, BPA increased again by 500 yuan/ton, and it rose by more than 2,000 yuan/ton in two days. Due to the decrease in external sales, market supply is expected to be tight, and bisphenol A rebounds in a high profile.

Downstream epoxy resins are not to be outdone, and continue to rise by 500 yuan/ton today, with a cumulative increase of 1,600 yuan/ton in the two days.

Affected by the scarcity of spot stocks, merchants are reluctant to sell and are expected to continue to rise in August.

Dow: Send two price increase letters in a row!

Dow has had a lot of things recently. First, there was a sudden chemical leak, and then the device was suddenly forced to stop production. Force majeure continued, resulting in continued tight market supply. In such an atmosphere, Dow continued to "chase", sending out two price increase letters in a row!

On July 29 and July 30, Dow (DOW) issued two consecutive letters announcing that it would increase the price of EA and glycol ether series products in North America that will be shipped from August 15 by up to $0.15/lb (approximately 2128 yuan/ton).

2. The transportation of chemical raw materials is blocked!

Recently, the number of medium- and high-risk areas nationwide has risen to 73, of which 70 are medium-risk areas and 3 are high-risk areas. The new crown pneumonia epidemic has spread from Nanjing, Jiangsu to Hunan, Liaoning, Beijing and other provinces and cities!

It is understood that the closure of the city in many places is based on the outbreak of the epidemic in Nanjing, which has spread. For the polyolefin market, the counter-attack of the epidemic has not had a direct and obvious impact on production companies, and there have been no obvious shutdowns and load reduction operations, but it has brought certain restrictions on the logistics and transportation of goods.

According to acrylic acid traders, the transportation capacity of Nanjing and Taizhou Taixing has been reduced by about one-third. At present, truck drivers must issue a 48-hour nucleic acid negative certificate before being allowed to enter the warehouse, which greatly hinders transportation.

The foreign epidemic situation is not optimistic, especially in the countries surrounding Myanmar, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries, the number of infected people and deaths has soared.

The spokesperson of Thailand's New Coronary Pneumonia Outbreak Management Center said on July 30 that from the third wave of the outbreak on April 1 to July 19, a total of 518 factories in 49 provinces in Thailand had cluster infections, with 36,861 confirmed cases. . Statistics show that the industry most affected by the epidemic is the food industry, with 99 factories experiencing cluster infections, followed by the electronics, clothing, metal and plastic industries.

If this situation continues until mid-August, it may affect the entire domestic industrial chain, leading to a shortage of some consumer goods and affecting foreign exports.
