SYH2045, developed by Shiyao Group, has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration of the People's Republic of China to carry out clinical trials for the treatment of advanced malignant tumors in China, the company announced on Jan 4.
This product is a Class 1 new chemical drug with independent intellectual property rights. It is a highly selective new protein arginine methyltransferase 5(PRMT5) inhibitor. Preclinical studies have shown that the product exerts antitumor effects by inhibiting the methylation level of arginine on histones and non-histones by regulating gene transcription, mRNA splicing, expression, cell proliferation and differentiation, and inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cells. The product has high selectivity and strong inhibition effect on PRMT5, low risk of missing target, excellent in vitro and in vivo activity and good safety, which is of great clinical development value.
