On the afternoon of June 7, an explosion and fire broke out in a chemical plant in Maharashtra, western India, killing 18 workers and several others missing.


According to Indian media reports, at around 17:00 local time on the 7th, a machine explosion occurred in a chemical plant in Pune, the second largest city in Maharashtra, and caused a fire.


"India Today" reported that the fire occurred in the chemical packaging section of the factory.


At the time of the incident, there were approximately 38 workers in the factory. Due to the fierce fire, some workers were trapped.


After the incident, the local fire department rushed to the scene to put out the fire, and the fire has been extinguished. Firefighters have found the remains of 18 victims, and several people are still missing. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
