On June 28, the first phase of the Sinopec Zhenhai Base Project was fully completed in Zhenhai, Ningbo, Zhejiang, setting a record for the construction of a petrochemical industrial base with the shortest construction period, the highest degree of localization, and the widest digital application in China.
According to Sinopec, after the completion of the project, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical will form 27 million tons/year oil refining capacity and 2.2 million tons/year ethylene capacity, which is currently the largest integrated refining and chemical base in my country.
Prior to this, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical was the largest integrated refining and chemical company in China, with a crude oil production capacity of 23 million tons/year and an ethylene production capacity of 1 million tons/year.
The first phase of the Zhenhai Base project mainly includes the main body of the ethylene project and the supporting projects of the industrial chain. The ethylene project will take 15 months from the approval of the basic design in March 2020 and the start of the on-site civil engineering foundation to the mid-June 2021; it will take 21 months to start the project by the end of December 2021. It will be a domestic project of the same scale. The fastest construction speed.
For the first time, Zhenhai Base realized the full localization of the distributed control systems of chips and operating systems for megaton ethylene.
Sinopec said that the next phase of the Zhenhai base project will be transferred to the start-up preparation stage and it is expected to be put into operation before the end of the year.
