In April, the price of another chemical product silently hit a new high-according to monitoring, in mid-April, the ex-factory price of tetrachloroethylene rose to 8,310 yuan/ton, which is a record high, and the price is 1,610 yuan higher than that at the beginning of 2021. /Ton, an increase of 24.03%; compared with the average price in 2020, it has increased by 4634 yuan/ton, an increase of 126.06%.
Perchloroethylene, also known as perchloroethylene, was the first time in 1821 that Michael Fara heated hexachloroethane to decompose tetrachloroethylene and chlorine.
Perchloroethylene is volatile and has a pungent sweet taste, which can be smelled when the air concentration reaches one part per million. Very high concentrations of perchloroethylene can cause dizziness, headache, drowsiness, confusion, nausea, difficulty speaking and walking, loss of consciousness and death.
Tetrachloroethylene is widely used in dry cleaning and metal degreasing, and can also be used to synthesize trichloroethylene and fluorine-containing organic compounds, so it is also widely used in the refrigerant industry.
Market participants believe that because downstream air conditioners are about to enter the peak season, the recent refrigerant market prices remain high, and the overall domestic operating load is high. There is strong rigid demand for tetrachloroethylene, and the acceptance of high raw material prices is still strong.
On the supply side, since April, the main domestic tetrachloroethylene production facilities have fluctuated in load, and the overall supply has not been high. Under the dual stimulus of tight supply and rising demand, it is not surprising that the price of perchloroethylene has strengthened recently.
