Xinjiang Tianye produces ethylene glycol from 1 million t/a synthesis gas. The core process uses patented technology for producing ethylene glycol from high-chemical synthesis gas. The first phase of the 600,000 t/a syngas-to-ethylene glycol project is located in Shihutan New Material Industrial Park, No. 147, Shihezi City, Bashi. It is the first project to be constructed in Shihutan New Material Industrial Park. Its planned area is 2,200 acres, with a total investment of 7.99 billion yuan, is a new starting point for Xinjiang Tianye Group to start a second venture and build a 100 billion Tianye. The first phase of the project started construction in August 2017.
According to the plan, after the first phase of the 600,000 t glycol project in the park is completed, subsequent coal-to-ethanol and downstream new material projects, polyester and upstream and downstream supporting projects will be promoted and coupled development. The project will enter the large-scale installation stage in mid-May 2020, and will be fully completed and put into operation at the end of the year. It is expected to achieve an annual output value of 4.2 billion yuan.
