Description
L-glutamine ( CAS: 56-85-9, Synonyms: (2,5-Diamino-5-oxpentanoicacid;LEVOGLUTAMIDE;L(+)-GLUTAMINE;L-GLUTAMINE;L(+)-GLUTAMIC ACID-5-AMIDE;L-GLUTAMIC ACID 5-AMIDE;L-GLUTAMIC ACID AMIDE;L-GLN)is an encoded amino acid in protein synthesis and one of the twenty non-essential amino acids. In the human body, it can be synthesized from glutamic acid, valine, and isoleucine, or derived from glucose. L-Glutamine is involved in the formation of purine and pyrimidine nucleotides, amino sugars, glutathione, L-glutamic acid, and other amino acids, and participates in protein synthesis and the production of glucose. Unlike most other amino acids, L-glutamine is unstable in solution. The degradation rate is a function of time, temperature, and pH. L-Glutamine (non-sterile) powder should be prepared as a filter-sterilized stock solution of 200 mM (or a similar concentration) in distilled water. The optimal concentration depends on the cell type and the culture medium used for cell cultivation, but it typically ranges from 2 to 6 mM.
