On October 15, Huntsman announced that its gasmar MDI plant in Louisiana was experiencing a partial outage due to a mechanical failure of a third-party raw material supplier, which is expected to last about five weeks. At present, it is estimated that this will affect the company's adjusted EBITDA of about $15 million in the fourth quarter.

It is reported that the gasmar plant mainly produces methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, also known as MDI, which is the raw material for the production of polyurethane, which is used for the production of insulators, furniture, plastics, shoes and pharmaceuticals. About 80% of the chemicals produced by the plant are sold to South and North America, and the remaining 20% are exported to other places. Currently, gasmar has about 450 employees and 275 contract workers
