US Cotton Export Weekly Report: Contract Volume Reduced And Shipment Increased

According to the USDA report, from October 2 to October 8, 2020, the net amount of Upland Cotton in the United States will be 22400 tons in 2020 / 21, which is 45% less than the previous week and 61% less than the average value of the previous four weeks. The main buyers are Pakistan (8278 tons), China (4536 tons), Guatemala (3379 tons), Vietnam (3130 tons) and Turkey (2359 tons). Bangladesh (907 tons) and Japan (295 tons) cancelled the contract.


The net contracted volume of Upland Cotton in the United States in 2021 / 22 is 2994 tons, and the buyer is China (2994 tons).


In the same week, the U.S. freight volume of Upland Cotton in 2020 / 21 was 43700 tons, 35% higher than the previous week and 7% lower than the average value of the previous four weeks. Destinations include China (13500 tons), Vietnam (11600 tons), Mexico (4627 tons), Pakistan (2948 tons) and Turkey (2200 tons).


In 2020 / 21, the net contracted volume of Pima cotton in the United States was 4037 tons, 18% less than the previous week and 19% lower than the average value of the previous four weeks. The main buyers were China (1338 tons), Bangladesh (1089 tons), India (925 tons), Switzerland (295 tons) and Pakistan (227 tons).


In the same week, the U.S. export shipment of Pima cotton in 2020 / 21 was 2880 tons, 20% less than the previous week and 10% lower than the average value of the previous four weeks. It was mainly shipped to China (1860 tons), India (295 tons), Peru (159 tons), Vietnam (159 tons) and Honduras (159 tons)
