The Qingyu DC project starts in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province and ends in Zhumadian City, Henan Province. The Central China Branch of State Grid closely followed the commissioning and commissioning of Qingyu DC, and took multiple measures to increase the utilization rate of cross-regional DC channels to meet the growing demand for clean energy in the region.


The project established Qingyu DC’s trading organization principle of “mainly consumption in Henan and taking into account the power purchase demand of other regions in Central China”, laying a solid foundation for increasing the utilization rate of cross-regional DC channels. From July to August, Hubei and Jiangxi’s economic Henan DC purchased 76 million kWh of electricity. On September 1, Northwest Clean Energy was sent to the Hunan Power Grid via ±800 kV Qingyu UHV DC for the first time. At present, the Qingyu DC project has achieved full coverage of the four provinces in Central China.

At present, the first ±800 kV high-end converter transformer of the UHV Qingnan Converter Station has been transported to the station to start on-site installation. The engineering bipolar high-end DC system has entered an important stage of the installation of main electrical equipment, and various construction work is proceeding in an intense and orderly manner. . The project plans to put the ±800 kV bipolar high-end DC system into operation within the year. By then, the project's transmission capacity will be doubled, and 40 billion kilowatt-hours of "green electricity" can be delivered to Henan every year.
