The 2023 Greater Bay Area Science Forum Biomedical and Health Sub Forum (hereinafter referred to as the "Health Forum") was held in Guangzhou on the 22nd. The health forum with the theme of "Technology Leading Epidemic Prevention and Protecting Healthy Breathing" is hosted by Guangzhou Laboratory, and co organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Precision Medicine Research Institute (Guangzhou) (hereinafter referred to as the "Precision Institute"). The forum focuses on the scientific prevention and control of respiratory infectious diseases, as well as the early prevention and treatment of major chronic respiratory diseases. Focusing on the cutting-edge development and cooperation of the life sciences and pharmaceutical health industry, it aims to help the Greater Bay Area build into a globally influential biopharmaceutical and health industry highland.
At the health forum, Zhong Nanshan, academician of the CAE Member, director of the Guangzhou Laboratory, honorary director of the National Respiratory Medical Center, and director of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases, mentioned that the Guangzhou Laboratory will build a complete innovation ecological chain, further promote basic research and drug and vaccine research and development of COVID-19, And provide safer and more effective respiratory disease solutions for the public.
Jin Li, an academician of the CAS Member, president of Fudan University, and president of the Academy of Precision Medicine, said via video that Fudan University and the Academy of Precision Medicine will make every effort to promote the application and transformation of cutting-edge research and major achievements in precision medicine, enhance the original innovation ability in the field of life and health, improve the supply capacity of innovative technologies and achievements, and help the cluster development of biomedicine and health industry in the Greater Bay Area.
Duan Chongzhi, a member of the National Academy of Inventors and President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, stated through a video that the university will seize the enormous development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, continue to leverage its advantages, promote research and education development, and work with experts and scholars to provide advice and suggestions for the development of biomedicine and health in China and globally.
