Usage
|
In the fertilizer industry, this product is used as a solvent for carbon dioxide removal. In the pharmaceutical industry, it can serve as a buffer for amino acid preparations and chlortetracycline, as well as a raw material for the synthesis of L-dopa (a drug for treating Parkinson's disease). It is also an intermediate for ethyl imidazolate; itself also acts as an auxiliary therapeutic drug, which can treat neurogenic hyperacidity and is also effective in inhibiting excessive acid associated with gastric ulcers.
In the food industry, it is used in the formulation of synthetic wine, brewed products, meat processing, and refreshing beverages, and as a saccharin dealkylating agent. As a food additive, glycine can be used alone as a flavoring agent, or in combination with monosodium glutamate, DL-alanine, citric acid, etc.
In other industries, it can be used as a pH regulator added to electroplating solutions, or as a raw material for other amino acids. In organic synthesis and biochemistry, it is used as a biochemical reagent and solvent.
