Usage

Amino acid drug: Used in amino acid infusions. It is often used in combination with iron preparations and vitamins; combined with vitamin B6, it improves depression and prevents pellagra. It is used as a sedative for insomnia in combination with L-dopa to treat Parkinson's disease. It has carcinogenicity in experimental animals and may cause adverse reactions such as nausea, anorexia, and drowsiness. It is contraindicated for use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
Nutritional supplement: Tryptophan is a limiting amino acid in egg white protein, fish meat, corn flour, etc., and has a low content in grains such as rice.
