As one of the series of summit forums to be held during the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, the Sixth "Belt and Road" TCM Development Forum, co-organized by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on the 6th. Guests gathered around the theme of "deepening the 'Belt and Road' cooperation in Chinese medicine and building a community of human health", in-depth discussion and outlook for the future.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative. Since ancient times, Chinese medicine has taken root in countries along the ancient Silk Road along with trade and commerce activities. Nowadays, with the transformation of health concepts and medical models, TCM exchanges and cooperation have become a new highlight of the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" initiative, enhancing health and well-being for people around the world.
Since the outbreak of the Xinguang epidemic, China has dispatched 38 teams of anti-epidemic medical experts to 34 countries; assisted in the construction of or cooperated in the establishment of TCM centers in Moldova, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Malaysia, etc., and dispatched TCM specialists to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, such as acupuncture, tuina and internal medicine, etc.; and carried out the following activities for the countries along the Belt and Road Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment technology, Chinese medicine health care culture and other aspects of the training program in China; artemisinin as the core technology, for more than 30 countries to assist in the construction of anti-malaria centers, the training of more than 3,000 professionals ...... Huang Luqi, deputy director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and president of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, introduced that TCM has spread to 196 countries and regions, and has become an important area of cooperation between China and ASEAN, the European Union, the AU, the LAC, as well as with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the BRICS, the China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEE) cooperation, and the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPEC) Forum on Economic and Trade Cooperation, among other regions and mechanisms.
